The three giants of the tech world: cloud computing, big data and mobility (CBM) are the future of tech market, but what benefits are there for businesses to opt CBM? Well, a survey conducted by Dell reveals that business can experience revenue growth up to 53 percent, compared to the ones who don’t. The results were published in the second annual Global Technology Adoption Index. Mid-market IT organizations across 11 countries were surveyed for the purpose.

The survey was done to help business users better understand and utilize how cloud, big data, mobility and security can influence the growth of an IT company.

There were few key findings, let’s take a look:

  1. As aforementioned, CBM orchestrates benefits of more than 50 percent to companies opting for it than to those who don’t. It reiterates the importance of Bring your Own Devices (BYOD) as a part of mobility strategies. In the past, we have been hearing about how BYOD culture can threaten the corporate data; let’s see where these new findings take us.
  2. In North America, 73 percent of the companies believe that they need big data apps to handle the complexity and volume of their data. These figures are up from 54 percent in 2014, indicating the significance of getting value from big stores of data, particularly for midmarket organizations. The same sampled organizations also believe that big data management has led to more value (69 percent) this year, 5 percent more than the last year’s. Managing big data effectively ensures better targeted marketing campaigns (41%), social media optimization (37%), and ad spending optimization (37%).
  3. Companies are focusing on threat minimization security plans rather than waiting for befalling of threats. This is facilitated by the fact that 54 percent of the organizations are investing in security plans. Dell, in collaboration with TNS Research, was able to discover that mid-market organizations in both Western Europe and North America are looking forward to better security. Compared to last year, there has been an increase of 10 percent in strategic security preferences as compared to the last year in North America and by 4 percent in Western Europe.
  4. The cost of IT infrastructure related to the support of big data initiatives and cost of better security of data are two biggest barriers to adoption.
  5. In France, midmarket organizations are increasing their use of cloud computing. The figures have risen by 12 percent compared to the last year.

It is evident that across the globe companies are beginning to see the value of cloud based data storage. With security measures constantly being updated, cloud storage is quickly becoming the best way to manage data. For more information on implementing cloud based data management, contact us today.
